(AP) — At least 13 people have been killed and 37 injured in a bus crash in Ecuador on Wednesday.

The police said a bus lost its brakes, flipped over and tumbled down an embankment.

According to Police chief, Gustavo Teran, yesterday’s accident took place in Tungurahua providence.

Teran said that speeding may have contributed to the accident.

The government said traffic accidents are the second leading cause of death in Ecuador.
