Two new judges have been appointed to serve in the Supreme Court.

They were sworn into office yesterday, at a ceremony held at King’s House.

Justice Vivene Juliet Harris will serve as Puisne Judge and Sonia Bertram Linton as Master-in-Chambers.

Governor-General, Sir Patrick Allen, who presided over the brief ceremony, congratulated the judges, noting that their appointment was indicative of the quality service they have given so far to the court system.

The Governor-General encouraged the judges to continue to work to uphold the laws of Jamaica and to build the trust that Jamaicans have in the country’s justice system.

Chief Justice, Zaila McCalla said despite the many challenges plaguing the justice system, the new appointees should not relent in the dispensation of justice.
