ICAJ appoints new executive director
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) has appointed Rosemarie Heaven as its executive director, effective January 14.
Her appointment followed the retirement of John Waite from the post, the ICAJ said in a release.
Heaven brings to the Institute experience in corporate and human resource management as well as events planning and implementation.
The ICAJ was established on January 18, 1965 and formally incorporated under the Public Accountancy Act (1968).
The Public Accountancy Act regulates the practice of accountancy in Jamaica as well as the use of the chartered accountant designations.
ICAJ currently has more than 1,000 members who are employed in management positions in industry, commerce, audit, information technology, banking, academia and the public sector.
The Institute also has on register more than 4,000 students pursuing professional accountancy qualification programmes.
