The Constitutional Court has reserved its judgment on the application brought by former Commissioner of Customs, Danville Walker, who is challenging an order from the Office of the Contractor General (OCG).

Attorneys in the case completed their submissions this afternoon.

The matter was heard by the full court comprising Supreme Court judges Justice Lennox Campbell, Bryan Sykes and Jennifer Straw.

The court said it would hand down its written judgment within 50 days.

Walker is seeking leave to the Judicial Review Court.

He is questioning the OCG’s authority under the Contractor General’s Act to probe the Customs Department.

He is also challenging a recommendation from the Contractor General that charges be brought against him.

Walker was charged last January, following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions, after the Contractor General wrote to her complaining about Walker's lack of cooperation during a probe into breaches by the Customs Department.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
