The group Citizens Action for Principle and Integrity (CAPI) says its disappointed that the Government has not provided specific timelines in meeting the prior actions needed to ink a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
CAPI says while it welcomes the Government disclosure more details must be provided to the public.
It says it is important that the government provides timely updates so as to make stakeholders aware of the progress of the structural reforms and to maintain the public’s support on the journey of economic recovery.
Meanwhile, CAPI says it is disheartened that the government did not announce a salary cut and a reduction in the size of the Cabinet which it believes would have signaled that the Administration is also prepared to make sacrifices.
The lobby group says this would have gone a far way in engendering goodwill and co-operation from public sector workers and other stakeholders who are asked again to make sacrifices.
