More budgetary support needed for early childhood education - Thwaites
Education Minister Ronald Thwaites has acknowledged that the education budget has to be right sized to give more support to early childhood education.
Currently only three per cent of the education budget is used to fund early childhood and special education combined.
This compares with the 40 per cent each that is used to fund primary and secondary education and the 17 per cent that goes to tertiary education.
The education minister also lamented what he said was the grave injustice meted out to teachers in the early childhood system.
