Arnett face Humble Lion today
Arnett Gardens will continue their hunt for valuable points when they host the struggling Humble Lion in the Monday Night Red Stripe fixture today.
The third round game will be played at the Anthony Spaulding Complex, beginning at 9 o’clock in the evening.
Arnett Gardens, who entered the day in sixth place on 36 points, are well poised to move to third place.
A victory for Arnett Gardens will see them moving ahead of Boys’ Town by a point.
Humble Lion are third-from-the-bottom of the table on 27 points, six clear of the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, the competition’s top two teams, Harbour View and defending champions Portmore United recorded easy victories yesterday.
Harbour View scored an away 2-0 victory over promoted Savannah at Frome Sports Complex to remain 10 points atop the table.
National player Jermaine Hue, penalty in the 40th minute and Andre Fagan in the 45th minutes scored the goals for the ‘Stars of the East.
Both teams finished with 10 players. Lynval Wilson was ejected for Savannah in the first half while Harbour View lost Hue in the closing stages of the contest.
Portmore United also scored an away 2-0 victory, this over Cavalier, the other promoted team, at the Stadium East field.
Third place Boys’ Town lost 3-1 to Waterhouse at the Drewsland Stadium, while Highgate United outscored Sporting Central Academy 3-2 at Brancourt in Clarendon.
In the day’s other game, Montego Bay United scored a 2-1 home victory over Tivoli Gardens at Catherine Hall Complex to move to fourth place.
