Alleged mastermind in Clarendon schoolgirl murder arrested

The Clarendon Police have nabbed the alleged mastermind behind the murder of 17-year-old student Tashana Lewin in the Woodside community of the parish.

Lewin was killed on March 2 at her house in Woodside, Clarendon.

Head of the Clarendon Police Senior Superintendent, SSP Michael Bailey says the woman was arrested on Sunday during an operation in York Town.

Three suspects were previously taken in relation to the killing.

It’s reported that the suspects told investigators the woman is the mother of a man, who is in custody in relation to the rape of the teenage girl.

The woman reportedly hired the suspects to carry out the murder.

It’s reported that Lewin was sexually molested sometime last year and following investigation a suspect was held recently.

The schoolgirl was scheduled to appear at an identification parade when her home was attacked by gunmen last Saturday.

Lewin was shot fatally and her father badly injured.

SSP Bailey says investigators are completing their interrogations before formal charges can be laid.
