Popular deejay is Rodney ‘Bounty Killer’ Price has been released from police custody on $750,000 bail with sureties.
Bounty Killer, who turned himself in to the police yesterday faces charges of illegal possession of a firearm, unlawful wounding and assault at common law. Two weeks ago, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) ruled that Bounty Killer and a former policeman, Chalice Bowen, be charged in connection with an incident in New Kingston in September 2007. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the former policeman. It is alleged that a group of men had used their motorcars to block a section of St Lucia Avenue in New Kingston. A policeman who was driving his private motorcar asked them to move the motorcars so that he could pass. Instead the men allegedly assaulted the policeman. The policeman was slapped in the face and chest. It is alleged that Bounty Killer pulled a firearm during the incident. A report was made to the police and statements were collected and submitted to the DPP who ruled that Bounty Killer and the former policeman must be charged. The Deejay is to return to the Gun Court on August 14. Source: Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to gireports@gleanerjm.com Your Comments
