Bangladesh complete series win over Zimbabwe

2009-11-03 12:50:37 | (0 Comments)

Hosts Bangladesh took an unassailable 3-1 series lead over Zimbabwe in their one-day international series, after bowling out the tourists for just 44 runs in Chittagong today.

Zimbabwe’s meagre total was the fifth lowest scored by any team in a One Day International, and Bangladesh quickly knocked off the required runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Zimbabwe barely cleared their own record for the lowest ever One Day International score, which remains the 35 they managed against Sri Lanka in 2004.

Bangladesh, set a victory target of 45, ended on 49-4 off 11.5 overs with Tamim Iqbal top scoring with 22.

Spinners Raymond Price and Graeme Cremer were the top bowlers for Zimbabwe with 2 wickets a piece.

Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan and Enamul Haque took 3 wickets each as Zimbabwe were bowled out in 24.5 overs.

Hasan ended with 3-8, while Haque took 3-16. Malcolm Waller, 13 and Stuart Matsikenyeri, 11, were the only batsmen to reach double figures for Zimbabwe.
