SportsJFF recommends tough action after ugly incident2009-11-06 18:14:11 | (0 Comments)
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) have decided that the strongest action should be taken following the ugly incident which disrupted a Manning Cup match between Jamaica College and Calabar on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the 62nd minute of the game when the father of one of the Calabar players raced onto the field to attack a player from Jamaica College, who had tackled his son. JFF also recommended that Calabar should not compete again until disciplinary action is taken against guilty parties. JFF and ISSA also announced a number of changes for the remainder of the Manning and daCosta Cup season, which has been plagued by violent incidents. One of the changes announced was that the JFF and ISSA would meet to discuss the venues selected for games. The two associations also announced that JFF vice president in charge of competitions Raymond Anderson and a member of the JFF Security Committee Carlton Dennis would be assigned to help fine tune security plans.
