The Special Enforcement Team at the Tax Administration department this morning seized of the assets of a prominent doctor who owes millions of dollars in taxes.

The early morning operation was carried out at the doctor’s office in Beverly Hills, St. Andrew.

The Director of Public Relations at the Tax Administration Services Department, Meris Haughton is advising delinquent taxpayers to meet their obligations to avoid harsh penalties.

She said the Special Enforcement Team usually intervenes after all other means to collect the outstanding amounts have failed.

She said assets that are seized are auctioned to recover the unpaid taxes.
