The number of persons arrested in connection with this morning’s massive gun and ammunition find off Mountain View Avenue in St Andrew now stands at eleven.

A police sergeant was among those arrested.

The police say they have so far seized up to 9,700 rounds of ammunition on the premises at Munster Road described as a quiet middle class community.

Approximately 600 rounds were located on premises at Mountain View Avenue.

They further say that initial information suggests that the premises on Mountain View Avenue is the business place of the owner of the house located on Munster Road.

Approximately 300 rounds of ammunition were also seized from locations in the St Andrew South and the St Andrew North Police Divisions.

Meanwhile a total of 19 firearms were seized by the police, which included M-16 rifles, shotguns, Uzi submachine guns, pistols and revolvers.

The National Security Ministry has begun a security and administrative audit of the Police Armoury and Stores following the massive gun and ammunition find.
