The police this morning shot and killed a member of the notorious Spanish Town-based Clansman gang.

The St. Catherine North police say the gang member identified as 23-year-old Kerom Johnson was shot shortly before 2a.m. on premises in Clayton Heights in Willodene.

Superintendent in charge of the division, Assan Thompson, says the police were responding to a call of a prowler being on the premises when they were fired at.

Superintendent Thompson says an illegal firearm was also taken from the man’s body.

He says Johnson is also a member of the Gaza Crew which operates out of 81 and 83 St. John’s Road in Spanish Town.
