NewsMedical Examiner confirms Staten Island mom killed children2010-07-29 16:52:18 | (0 Comments)
Staten Island Police in New York have now determined that 14 year-old Jamaican CJ Jones and his three siblings were killed by their mother in a case of arson, murder and suicide.
For days now US media have been reporting that forensic and medical examinations believe it was Lesha Jones, the mother of the four children who killed them and then herself. However investigators had not provided an official report because their probe was not complete. However, earlier today the Staten Island Medical Examiner’s Office reported that 14 year-old Jamaican CJ Jones, his sisters 10-year-old Brittany and 7-year-old Melony and his two-year-old brother, Jermaine were killed by their mother, Lesha Jones. Investigators say CJ and his two sisters died from a wound to their throats while Jermaine died from smoke inhalation. Their mother who carried out the act also died from smoke inhalation from the fire she had set to their home after killing CJ and his two sisters. Investigators had originally suspected that the Jamaican boy was responsible for the killings since he had a history of setting fires. CJ left his father in Jamaica six years ago to join his mother in New York. His father Earlston Raymond told The Gleaner/Power 106 News that he had become worried about the safety of CJ after the mother started to behave strangely. However, Raymond said despite repeated pleas Lesha Jones refused to send back CJ to Jamaica.
