NewsBruce Golding puzzled by graffiti campaign in West Kingston2010-11-09 16:18:12
| PNP graffiti on the walls of the St Annie's Primary School in Denham Town. The Member of Parliament for West Kingston, Prime Minister Bruce Golding has reserved further comments on the spray painting of People National Party (PNP) slogans in the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) strongholds of Tivoli Gardens and Dehamn Town. Several residents woke up this morning to find PNP slogans spray painted on several premises in the area. This morning Golding said he did not wish to speculate on the matter. However the Prime Minister said he found the incident puzzling given that the area is under 24-hour police surveillance since the West Kingston incursion in May. His position was shared by the councilor for the Tivoli Gardens Division, Mayor of Kingston, Desmond McKenzie: The graffiti angered the West Kingston residents who insisted they are not switching their allegiance from the JLP to the PNP. The residents also blamed members of the security forces for the graffiti with one woman alleging that she saw a policeman spray painting a building. Listen to Audio clip
