NewsManatt enquiry to resume today2011-01-20 09:08:35 | (0 Comments)
The Commission of Enquiry into the issues surrounding the extradition of former West Kingston strongman Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke is set to resume today at the Jamaica Conference Centre.
The commission adjourned for two days after holding its first sitting on Monday. That sitting was marked by the absence of statements from some key players in the matter. The only witness who gave testimony on Monday was Permanent Secretary in the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ambassador Evadne Coye. Her testimony revealed a disagreement between the ambassador and Solicitor General, Douglas Leyes, over the involvement of the law firm Manatt, Phelps and Phillips in the Coke extradition matter.
