President of the People's National Party's Youth Organisation (PNPYO), Damion Crawford has suddenly resigned from the organisation.

A news release issued late yesterday from the PNPYO said Mr. Crawford was unable to continue in his capacity as leader of the PNP affiliate "due to personal reasons".

The surprise resignation was announced at an emergency meeting of the PNPYO's National Council. Mr. Crawford, who was also present at the meeting, pledged to continue to support the organisation and to advocate on behalf of the youth, the release stated.

"As Comrade Crawford moves on, we wish him success in his life and career and assure him that the organisation will keep the lessons, messages and inspiration instilled by his leadership" said Gynelle Findlay, the communications chairperson of the PNPYO.

Junior Rose, a vice president of the PNPYO, has been appointed to act as pesident until a national congress is held where the organisation will elect a new leader.
