Contributed Four classrooms were refurbished and a fifth constructed. The building has also been officially named "The Phillip Gore Building". Phillip Gore, the chairman of Gore Development Ltd, said that giving back to his alma mater was a "no brainer". “Jamaica College means something to me and hence it was a ‘no brainer’ to help, because I passionately believe in education being the salvation for this country” According to the school’s principal, Ruel Reid, the new classrooms will boast the latest technologies and will be used for study sessions to allow for more group work. He also intends to facilitate a culinary arts programme in one of the classrooms.
