Vybz Kartel to be interviewed this week

Head of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell says popular dance hall entertainer Adija Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, will be interviewed by investigators early this week.

He says yesterday’s scheduled questioning of the artiste was postponed at the request of Kartel’s lawyer. Kartel is being represented by a team comprising Tom Tavares Finson, Christian Tavares Finson and Michael Deans.

The entertainer was arrested on Friday morning at a small hotel in Kingston for illegal possession of marijuana. Three other persons, who were in the company of the artiste, were also arrested.

Several houses owned and frequented by Kartel were also searched. He is to be questioned in relation to a body found at one of the St Andrew premises.
