A motorist narrowly escaped death along the Washington Boulevard in St Andrew this afternoon, after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a metal pole.

The man’s identity has not been released, but the police say he has been hospitalised with two broken legs following what they are calling a high-speed crash.

Head of the Police Traffic Division, Senior Superintendent Radcliffe Lewis is again advising motorists against speeding on the newly expanded and resurfaced roadway.

Mr Lewis also says the police have started round-the-clock patrol along the Washington Boulevard and warns that persons caught speeding will be prosecuted for dangerous driving.
