The trial of police inspector Dale Isaacs, who was held in a major drug bust, is set to get underway in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court today.

The policeman was held in a sting operation conducted by members of the Anti-Corruption Branch in July.

The police team searched a vehicle being driven by the inspector in which 179 pounds of compressed ganja was allegedly found.

The police said the drug has a street value of $40 million.

Inspector Isaacs was arrested and later charged with possession of ganja, taking steps to export ganja, dealing in and trafficking ganja.

Isaacs, who is attached to a division in the Corporate Area has more than 12 years of service in the police force.
