Opposition leader, Portia Simpson Miller has introduced a new dimension to the debate on the removal of the Queen of England as Jamaica's Head of State, suggesting the possibility of having a Jamaican Queen.

She was responding to a question from a member of the audience at the leadership debate now underway, about whether she thought it was time for Jamaica to move away from the Westminster model of government.

Mrs. Simpson Miller said the Party would be moving to remove the Queen of England as Head of State and create the possibility for a Jamaican Queen.
