NewsUpdate: Homeless man injured in crash2011-12-22 07:50:39 | (0 Comments)
Monique Grange, Gleaner Writer
The Police Traffic Division is disputing claims by a bus driver that brake failure led to a crash along Constant Spring Road in St. Andrew, during which a homeless man and several passengers were injured. The coaster bus crashed into a wall after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle in the vicinity of the Paint Shop at the Springs Mall in the busy commercial area. Head of the Traffic Division Senior Superintendent Radcliffe Lewis says a section of the wall fell on the homeless man and broke one of his legs. He says the driver told the police that the brakes had failed. SSP Lewis said the driver’s claim was found to be untrue. Meanwhile, he is appealing to all drivers to be careful on the roads especially during the festive season. monique.grange@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
