Police inspector in hospital following crash

A police inspector attached to the Major Investigation Task Force remains hospitalised following a motor vehicle collision in St Catherine.


He is Detective Inspector Leighton Blackstock.

Reports from the St Catherine North Traffic Department are that yesterday at about 7:00 am, the senior investigator was driving a police service vehicle easterly along the McCooks Pen Main Road, upon reaching a section of the road his vehicle was hit by a Toyota motorcar heading in the opposite direction.

It is reported the driver lost control of the Toyota motorcar and slammed into the vehicle driven by the policeman.

The inspector suffered multiple injuries to his body.

He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was admitted in a serious condition.

Further investigation are being conducted in the matter.
