PM Cabinet meets today

The first meeting of the Portia Simpson Miller Cabinet will be held today.

It is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Jamaica House.

No details have been provided regarding the agenda items.

On the weekend, the prime minister and senior members met with the Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, where the government outlined its plans renegotiate the terms of the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme.

The Government intends to use money from the loan for the programme to create jobs under the Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme.

On Friday, Government Ministers began holding familiarisation talks with the heads of agencies and senior personnel in their ministries.
