Cops seize illegal gun in St. Catherine

One man is now in police custody after he was held with an illegal gun in St. Catherine this morning.


The man whose identity has not yet been released by the police, pending further investigations, was charged for breaching the Firearm Act.

The man's arrest arose from a joint police/military operation in McCooks Pen.

Police said that about 8:30 a.m, a team went into the community where the man was searched and a .38 revolver along with five rounds found on his person.

He was taken into custody on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
