The Opposition Leader Andrew Holness used his first opportunity in the new session of Parliament to warn the Government not to reverse the gains made by the Jamaica Labour Party administration.

He pointed to the drop in crimes and lowered interest rates.

Holness also offered what he called unsolicited advice to the Government to pursue certain legislation like the anti-corruption laws.

“We will ferret out, every action of corruption and we will make it public,” Holness charged.

He also told the Government not to reverse the free health care policy or the tuition-free policy.

“We will rabidly seek out the welfare and benefits for the people of Jamaica,” Holness vowed, while promising that the Opposition will seek to reconnect with people of Jamaica.

“We stand prepared to be the alternative government in Jamaica, ready and waiting for the call that will come sooner than later,” Holness said to chuckles in the House.

The House has been adjourned to next Tuesday January 24.
