Four men are now in police custody in relation to the shooting death of a businessman off Hagley Park Road, in Kingston this morning.

The victim has been named as Neil Northover of a Cheltenham Drive.

The names of the suspects have not been released.

The police said Northover was at his house with his companion, when men kicked in the back door and entered the building.

A struggle reportedly ensued between Northover and the men, who shot him several times.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His companion was not harmed.

The gunmen also reportedly robbed other occupants on the compound of items which included a laptop, television set and cellular phones.

A police operation in the area led to the suspects being picked up in Waltham Park and the recovery of the stolen items.

The Police said the men will be questioned in the presence of their attorneys before they are charged.
