BUSINESS: Blue Power Limited vs Blue Power Group

Junior stock market company Blue Power Group Limited (BPOW) says the removal of affiliated Blue Power Limited from the Companies Office register has no bearing on its operations.

BPOW made the request for BPL, a dormant company with no assets, to be dropped from the register, the group said Wednesday in a statement by chairman Dhiru Tanna.

“In 2010 Lumber Depot Limited took over the assets and liabilities of Blue Power Limited after which the name Lumber Depot Limited was changed to Blue Power Group Limited prior to being listed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange,” the statement said.

“The activities of Blue Power Group Limited are now organised in a single company but into two divisions: the Blue Power Soap Division and the Lumber Depot Division.”

BPL became inactive in 2010.
