Ferry goes missing

A ferry carrying about 300 passengers has gone missing off the north coast of Papua New Guinea.

Operator Star Ships said it lost contact with the vessel early Thursday.

Australian media reported the vessel sent a distress call.

Star Ships is one of Papua New Guinea’s biggest ship operators.
