New Zealand beat Zimbabwe

A stand of 137 between Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson steered hosts New Zealand to a seven-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the first Twenty20 international in Auckland today.
The pair came together with New Zealand wobbling on 15 for two following the removals of Rob Nicol and captain Brendon McCullum.
Guptill finished unbeaten on 91, including six sixes, while Williamson reached 48 to lead New Zealand to the victory target. They ended on 160 for three after Zimbabwe posted 159 for eight from their allotted 20 overs.
Earlier, Hamilton Masakadza 53 from 36 balls and Elton Chigumbura 48 from 24 balls made most runs for Zimbabwe.
Michael Bates was the most successful bowler for New Zealand with three for 31 off his four overs.
The second and final match will take place in Hamilton on February 14.
