Marks urges greater alliance in harnessing diaspora support

2012-02-19 18:05:40 | (0 Comments)

Jamaica’s outgoing Ambassador to the United States, Audrey Marks says alumni associations outside the island needs to forge a more structured alliance to harness the wide range of expertise that exists in the diaspora community.

Ambassador Marks’ comments came as she addressed the Marymount High School Alumni Association fund raising ball at the Double Three Hotel in New York last evening.

She says individual alumni associations can have a greater national impact if they work together.

Miss Marks says there is an urgent need for structured support at every level of Jamaica’s education system and adds that this is an area where alumni associations can make a meaningful contribution.
