Barbara Gayle, Staff Reporter

Lawyers representing the parents of an infant whose body was found decomposed in a suitcase are to make an application for bail.

The attorneys gave notice when the matter was called up today in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

The accused are Alphanso and Stephanie Warren who are both charged with concealment of death and failure to bury the body of a child.

Alphanso Warren is being represented by attorney Christian Tavares Finson, while his wife is being represented by C.J. Mitchell.

The court was told today that a psychiatric evaluation of the couple has determined that they are competent to enter a plea.

They were remanded to reappear on March 2.

The parents were arrested last month following the discovery of the corpse of their 2-year-old son.

Baby Joshua Warren’s body was found in a suitcase on January 9 at his home, with the post mortem report indicating that he died of natural causes on October 30, 2011.
