NewsFree scoliosis surgery for Jamaicans2012-03-29 12:45:26 | (0 Comments)
Two Scoliosis patients are set to receive surgery at the Kingston Public Hospital tomorrow.
Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine. The surgeries will be performed at no cost to the patients by a medical team from the US based Duncan Tree Foundation. The team is now on a mission that is a part of the foundation’s Scoliosis Care Fund Project. At least 25 adolescents who suffer from scoliosis are expected to benefit from the free surgeries over the next year. According to Chairman of the South East Regional Health Authority Board, Lyttleton Shirley, about 150 children are awaiting surgery. He said the medical team has also donated the instruments needed for the surgeries. radio@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
