The management is expected to return to the negotiation table today with a settlement package. Those talks are now underway at the labour ministry. The company’s management had agreed to review a settlement package for workers following a series of meetings over the past two weeks. Employees at the company, who staged a sit-in last week, have threatened to take industrial action if the company does not make a favourable wage offer. NWU Vice President Granville Valentine said the workers concerns have heightened after cement workers in Trinidad and Tobacco received a seven per cent wage increase recently: He said it is critical that the ongoing wage negotiation is completed before the next round of discussions begins in another two months. radio@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
