Parents must be more vigilant - SSP Knight
2012-05-05 18:08:22 | (0 Comments)
Senior Superintendent of Police Derrick Knight says too many children are engaged in smoking, drinking and other forms of inappropriate behaviours and is urging parents to become more vigilant.
Knight, who is the head of the St Andrew Central Police Division, says the police are seeing an increase in the number of children consuming alcohol and smoking marijuana.
He was addressing the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation’s (KSAC) first quarterly town hall meeting at the Faith Cathedral Deliverance Centre, on Waltham Park Road, in St Andrew.
With the expected increase in parties during the summer, Knight is urging parents to sit and talk with their children before they leave home to ensure they are guided on the activities they can engage in and those they should avoid.
