Search underway for missing fisherman

The Marine Police along with the Jamaica Defence Force are continuing their search at this hour for a fisherman who is missing at sea.

He has been identified as 22-year-old man Alva Hendricks who along with three other men had gone fishing in Port Antonio, Portland this morning.

It’s reported that the three left the shore at Folly on a rubber inflated boat to catch fish.

At sea, they reportedly anchored the boat and then climb aboard a concrete structure in the water.

While fishing, Hendricks’ fishing line fell into the water.

He reportedly jumped into the water to retrieve it, but got into difficulties and was swept away.

The Marine Police were called in and they were joined by local fishermen and the JDF to carry out a search.
