Journalist kidnapped in Honduras

2012-05-10 10:24:49 | (0 Comments)

A Honduran journalist has reportedly been kidnapped.

Reports say Alfredo Villatoro, the news manager at HRN Radio, was abducted yesterday while on his way to work in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa.

Villatoro had reported receiving death threats.

HRN radio reports that Villatoro's captors have been in contact with his family to confirm they were holding him, but declined to give any details.

The police say they have arrested three suspects in connection with the abduction.

Villatoro's abduction comes just days after the disappearance and subsequent death of journalist and gay rights campaigner Erick Martinez.
