Man held on suspicion of assaulting teen

A 57-year-old man who the police say had sexual intercourse with a 15 year-old girl while she was being held down by her mother has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

It is reported that the incident took place in a St Andrew community this week.

The child’s mother has already been arrested and charged with aiding and abetting rape and two counts of cruelty to a child.

However, the police are withholding the names of both accused to protect the identity of the victim.

The Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, which is probing the incident, alleges that the woman held down her daughter and allowed the man to have sexual intercourse with her.
