Michael Rodgers of the USA finished third in 9.99. Meanwhile in the women's event, Fraser-Pryce clocked a season-best 10.92 to beat a quality field in the women’s 100 metres. Tianna Madison finished second in a personal-best 10.97, while her American teammates Carmelita Jeter was third in 11.05 and Allyson Felix fourth in 11.07. In the men’s 200 metre, Jamaica’s Nickel Ashmeade clocked a season’s best 19.94 but had to settle for second in a close finish with Churandy Martina of The Netherlands. Martina was also credited with the same time, which is a national record in The Netherlands. In the women’s 400-metre race, Jamaica’s Novlene Williams-Mills had to settle for second in 50.10. American Francena McCorory won the event in a personal-best 50.06. Earlier, Kaliese Spencer of Jamaica clocked 54.91 for second place in the women’s 400-metre hurdles.
