LIAT plane destroyed by fire

Regional airline LIAT’s Management has confirmed one of its hangars at the VC International Airport in Antigua, two office block buildings and an aircraft have been destroyed by fire.

The fire is reported to have started at approximately 10.15 last night.

There are no reports of injury or loss of life.

The Company says it is working with the investigative authorities of Antigua and Barbuda as well as the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority to ascertain the cause of the fire.

LIAT’s management says it is expected that all flights will operate normally today.
