2012-06-16 17:55:18 | (0 Comments)

Jamaica’s senior men’s basketball team departed earlier today for the Centrobasket Championship in Puerto Rico from June 18-24.

Jamaica will play alongside Costa Rica, Mexico, the US Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic in Group ‘B'.

Cuba, the Bahamas, hosts Puerto Rico, Panama and Nicaragua will contest Group ‘A’.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals.

The Centrobasket Championship will qualify the top four teams to the 2013 International Basketball Federation Americas Championship.

Lynford Brown, who plays for Spanish Town Spartans in the National Basketball League, is the only local-based player in the squad.
