A 42-year-old man who is alleged to have sexually molested his nine-year-old daughter was remanded in custody when he appeared in court today.

The man whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of the child appeared before Resident Magistrate Simone Maddix and was ordered to reappear on July 9.

He is facing charges of buggery and sexual touching after he was arrested and charged earlier this month.

A report was made to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse following two incidents in May and last month.
