GSAT results by midday

2012-06-19 18:17:33 | (0 Comments)

Education Minister Ronald Thwaites has announced that the results of the Grade Six Achievement Test, GSAT, will be available to schools by midday tomorrow.

Thwaites says he is satisfied that there was no corruption in relation to the examination.

He made the announcement in parliament this afternoon while making his contribution to the 2012/2013 Sectoral Debates.

The education minister says this year’s results have shown improvements in the national average in all subject areas.

Thwaites says the improvements in scores means schools will receive students who are better prepared for secondary education.

Thwaites has urged students and parents to accept the placements assigned by the education ministry.

He says the government will be moving to begin the overhaul of the GSAT by next March.

According to the education minister, the current format of the exam reeks fear and trauma among parents and children.
