Jamaica senior men’s basketballers will try to protect their unbeaten run at the 2012 Centrobasket Championship in Puerto Rico today when they face the Dominican Republic.
The Group-B game will start at 5 p.m. Jamaica time. In the other Group-B game today, Costa Rica and the US Virgin Islands will face off. There will also be two Group-A games today. Those matches are Panama against the Bahamas and hosts Puerto Rico facing Nicaragua. The Jamaicans secured their second straight victory yesterday by defeating US Virgin Islands 80-64. Meanwhile, Jamaica’s Kimani Ffriend suffered a broken nose during the game yesterday and has been ruled out of today’s contest. The first two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. They will automatically book a spot to the 2013 International Basketball Federation Americas Championship.
