Opposition calls for breakfast programme in schools

2012-06-21 08:58:40 | with audio | (0 Comments)

Opposition spokesman on agriculture, JC Hutchinson, is calling for emphasis to be placed on the provision of breakfast under the school feeding programme.

The programme aims to provide nutritious lunches for students.

However, Hutchinson said many children leave home hungry and the school feeding programme would have a far greater impact, if breakfast was provided instead of lunches.

He said a breakfast programme implemented in his North West St. Elizabeth constituency has already begun yielding results.
