A man who was involved in a domestic dispute which left his step brother dead and two other family members wounded last week has been charged with murder, wounding with intent and unlawful wounding.

Twenty-three-year-old Vernal Whyte was charged yesterday.

The Caymanas Police held Whyte in relation to an incident which took place in Christian Pen, Portmore, St Catherine, last week Wednesday.

Whyte allegedly chopped his 15-year-old stepbrother Norval Plummer to death during the incident.

It is reported that Plummer was at home with his mother and stepfather when his stepbrother attacked them with a machete.

Both sustained chop wounds. Plummer’s stepfather, who reportedly tried to intervene, also sustained injuries. All three were taken to hospital, where Plummer later died.

Whyte is to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court on July 10.
