Jamaica’s former world record holder Asafa Powell and American Tyson Gay will go head to head over 100 metres at the Aviva London Grand Prix on July 13.

The two will meet at Crystal Palace, 23 days before a potential rematch in the Olympic final.

Gay, who has battled back from terrible injury problems, was second at the United States trials in 9.86 seconds last week, while Powell finished third behind Yohan Blake and Usain Bolt in the Jamaican trials.

They will both be looking to send out a warning to Blake and Bolt, who have run 9.75 and 9.76 this year, ahead of the Olympics.

Meanwhile, national champion Novlene Williams-Mills is among six Jamaicans listed on the provisional entry lists for the Areva Samsung Diamond League meeting in Paris on Friday.

Williams-Mills and her Jamaican teammate Rosemarie Whyte are down to face off with American Francena McCorory in the women’s 400 metres.

Williams-Mills and Whyte were in action over the weekend at the Olympics trials.

Williams-Mills defended her national 400-metre title on Sunday by clocking 50.60 seconds. Whyte finished second in 50.78.

Aleen Bailey is down to contest the women’s 200 metres, while Michael Frater and Nickel Ashmede will face off with the American pair of Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin in the men’s 100-metre dash.
