The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) is set to hold two events this weekend to celebrate its 69th anniversary on Sunday.

JLP General Secretary Aundre Franklin says the Party will kick off activities with a commemorative church service at the East Queen Street Baptist Church in Downtown Kingston at 10 a.m.

Party Leader Andrew Holness will make a special address, while other party officials and functionaries will be in attendance.

The party will then convene at its Central Executive Meeting immediately after the church service at its Belmont Road Headquarters.

The Jamaica Labour Party was officially launched on July 8, 1943 at the Ward Theatre in Downtown Kingston with Sir Alexander Bustamante as its first Leader.
